Minnesota Cop mows woman’s grass, A police officer is being praised for being a cut above the rest, after he helped an elderly woman by mowing her overgrown lawn.

Orono Officer Matt Siltala responded to a call to check on the welfare the woman. After checking on the woman, and seeing she was okay, he asked why her yard was so unkempt.

“She said she doesn’t have anyone to mow for her,” Orono Police said in a post on Facebook. “He grabbed her mower and cut the front yard.”

On June 6, the department shared a photo on their Facebook page showing Officer Siltala is seen pushing a gas-powered lawnmower through thick grass next to the woman’s driveway.

“Not sure why Officer McCoy, who took the picture, couldn’t grab the trimmer,” the post said.

In a follow-up comment, police said other people had inquired about helping the woman with their lawn. The department said they will provide details in a few days.

“We have had a few people inquire about helping this resident. We will do some checking and get back to those who have shown interest. It’ll be a few days though.”
